What A Day!
If there was ever a doubt that the Maketu Kaimoana Festival creates its own sunshine... this year's festival proved it beyond a doubt.
Waitangi Day dawned to dark skies, a steady rain, and a weather forecast that suggested it was going to be a long, wet, afternoon.   And then.... at the stroke of noon when the Kaimoana Festival gates opened the rain stopped, and as the music started the sun came out to celebrate another fantastic festival under blue skies.
Thanks to everyone who made this year's Kaimoana Festival a success.  To our sponsors, vendors, community organisations, entertainers, and others whose efforts delivered a full day of fun and food.  A very special thanks to all the volunteers who are the heart and soul of the Kaimoana festival, especially the Maketu Rotarians and friends of Maketu Rotary.
And finally, big thanks to everyone who came along just to enjoy the festival.  In the end, your presence makes it possible of Maketu Rotary to support a wide range of community groups and projects.  So a big THANKS for having a great day and showing your appreciation for the Kaimoana Festival by emptying your wallet!
Here are some pics from the day.  Enjoy!
